Uninsulated Bare Copper Wire - Suitable for science experiments such as the magnet coil train, spinning coil, etc.

NOTE: Some oxidation may be present on the wires - small black spots / portions. This is not insulated copper wire, this is not magnet wire - please ensure that your application is suitable for this wire before use. 


Thickness Approx: 0.8mm / 1.2mm / 1.6mm

Generally, 5m will be sufficient to display a simple magnet train experiment (non-closed circuit train track - short straight line track). NOTE: 1.6mm is generally stiffer and more difficult to coil.


Uninsulated single-strand wire (e.g. If 3 sets of 5m is ordered, we will provide 1 single uncut strand of 15m. Max uncut length is 25m, for over 25m, please contact us in advance). Please note a lead time of 1 to 2 days is required to prepare this item. 


For 1.2mm & 1.6mm wires only:

Greater than 99 percent pure copper

Meets QQ-W-343 standards for uninsulated copper wire

Meets ASTM B3 standards for annealed copper wire and complies with RoHS regulations

Made in USA

Package includes: 1 uncut bare copper wire roll only (unless otherwise instructed / maximum length has been reached)


NOTE: While this is the "correct" wire for certain science experiments such as the magnet train, many other conditions must be fulfilled for the experiment to work. The magnet train experiment is sometimes difficult to achieve (e.g. wire must be well coiled, magnets must be sufficient strong, etc factors).
